In Depth Post #4
It has been an awesome two weeks for in depth! I have done somereflecting on what I hav elearned so far, and I’m getting really exited to begin perfecting my teqnics! I have included a gallary of all my drawings for the past 6 weeks!
One of my main goals in the project was to improve my drawing skills, mainly of faces. This is my attempt at an eye, I was actually pretty happy with the result considering I don’t do alot of drawing! in drawing the eye I used a blending teqnic to blend the colours together and make them look almost 3D like.
This is my second drawing I will use to create a water colour painting. If you didn’t get this at first, its a fish. I used griding in the picture to properly scale it. In griding you measure and scale the original picture by drawing a gride on the picture. Then you scale the same grid onto a seperate piece of paper, then you draw out each circle like the drawing was on the original grid.
This is my second ever watercolour painting. I think with this one I improved on my ability to control where the colour is, but I think I tried to make it too much like an acrylic painting. In photo I definitely needed to blend more colours. There’s only room for improvement!
I’m so exited about this drawing, I just copleted it today and I love it! At the beggining of this project I never thought I could draw anything like this! I also started the canvas acrylic painting, so far I just have a background, I needed to leave it to dry and by the time I did my art class was over, unfortunatly. Again I used the griding teqnic which really helped
So in my first in depth post I showed you guys a drawing of this dinocuar, so this is my water colour painting of that dinocuar. I should also mention this was my first water colour painting…ever. I had trouble blending the colours together in the way that I wanted. I also had difficulty knowing how much water to put onto the paper before I added the colours.
So a huge improvment overall, I’m getting really exited about everything!

I agree with your amazing progress and how much you have learned in the past few weeks. Thanks for sharing your personal works of art with us. Sounds like you need to set up a miniature art gallery for your in-depth project celebration night.

And yes I was thinking of setting up somesort of art gallary set up for indepth, I would organize it lime a timeline to show my drawins and paintings at the beggining, then move in my more recent ones!
