In Depth First Post of Grade 10!!!
Yay! It is time for in Depth again, which as I am most certain pretty much every grade 10 is noticing that this means Talons is almost over. Anyway, In Depth!
This year I have decided to do Graphic Arts for my in depth! If you are not aware there are a variety of versions of graphic arts. The type I am doing is kind of like painting…..only on a computer. This involved taking a picture from the internet and remaking it in a photo shop program! I took a graphic arts class last year so I have a couple of examples of what I mean!

These are examples of what I will be doing this year! The first photo is a rubber duck! I used a tool to shaped circles into the shape of the duck, then used shading to make it look 3D! I used the same technique for the candle as well! Then for the last one I took a photo, and put other images in with that photo to manipulate and change the original image!
I will be using all of these techniques, but going a little further to do more advanced stuff with photo-shop. I would like to be able to create more realistic looking 3D images and be able to edit photos, manipulate them and create collages!
I chose Graphic arts for my in Depth because I have always enjoyed art, and I loved taking the Graphic arts class. I found it really interesting that you could create a 3D image just using circles and squares! I also loved manipulating the photos and making them look completely different!
My mentor for this project will Ms. Gunn, the Graphic arts teacher at our school! I plan on meeting with her about once a week, every week untill in depth comes to a close! She will help perfect my techniques and learn new skills!
I’m so excited to start in depth this year!
